Safeguarding Your Financial Information and Identity
Protect Your Cell Phone
You may not realize it, but the rate of identity theft from cell phones has increased dramatically in the past few years. Many cell phones double as personal computers, and some users store personal information and make online purchases directly from their cell phones. "Shoulder surfing" (when someone looks over your shoulder while you are at a computer or using an ATM) can happen to cell phone users, too especially because cell users tend to use keypads more slowly due to the smaller relative size. Be aware of your surroundings, use a password to protect your phone… or even consider using another way of storing and using personal information.
