American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI)
The largest multi-disciplinary, non-partisan initiative of its kind, ABI dedicates its energies to research and public education on bankruptcy and related issues. Established in 1982, its membership roll lists more than 11,000 lawyers, bankers, judges, lenders, academicians and other professionals in the field.
American Bar Association
The American Bar Association is the largest voluntary professional organization
worldwide. Consisting of 400,000 members, the ABA offers education, information
and programs to attorneys, judges, the business community and the general
public. One of its most critical functions is the accreditation of law schools.
American Immigration Lawyers Association
Affiliated with the American Bar Association, AILA offers members legal and professional education and services through its 36 chapters and more than 50 national committees. The organization's membership boasts over 10,000 attorneys and law professors who practice and teach immigration law, representing thousands of families seeking permanent residence in the U.S. The AILA likewise aids foreign students, entertainers, athletes and individuals seeking asylum, as well as U.S. businesses that employ highly skilled foreign workers.
Commercial Law League of America
With a membership of more than 4,000 legal and financial professionals, the CLLA advocates in the both commercial law and bankruptcy disciplines, representing both creditor interests and businesses and individuals experiencing fiscal difficulties. The organization formed in 1895, making it one of the oldest and most respected of its genre.
